How to play

1. Spin the TEAM and ERA reels to land a random franchise and decade, from the 1970s to the 2020s.
2. Draft five players for your core: a quarterback, a running back, a wide receiver, a receiving flex (wide receiver or tight end) and a defensive anchor.
3. Coach the season with three big calls after weeks 5, 9 and 13.
4. Go 17-0 by winning every game. Ties can happen, and only 17-0-0 counts as perfect.

How to build a 17-0 team

• Start with the quarterback. His passing and awareness drive the biggest share of your team rating.
• Give him sure-handed receivers. Their receiving ratings feed straight into your passing attack, and QB–receiver timing adds chemistry.
• Pick a running back who catches passes. An 82+ receiving back adds a chemistry boost on top of the run game.
• Choose a real defensive anchor. He counts for 42% of your defense, and a 90+ pass rusher or cover man adds another boost.
• Teammates from the same franchise or era add a little extra chemistry.
• Match your coaching calls to your roster: air it out with an elite passer, unleash an elite defender, trust the chemistry when it is high.
